I have been building homes for years and see builders copy floor plans all the time. I never thought the same thing happened on the Internet but found a website company copying the name of an existing well respected firm...they just could not copy the service or results.

I bought a website last year from a company named Builder Designs who I paid over 10K and waited...and waited....and after months I finally gave up with no website only to find out they were not capable of even building the website they promised. The salesperson from Builder Designs made big claims but delivered nothing and the owner, Chip promised to refund my money but later refused and basically called me a liar for asking.

KC. Would you be able to mention the name of the company that you were originally working with?

The first company we hired was called Builder Designs out of Olathe Kansas. They looked like a reputable place but never delivered and refused to refund our money after 6 months with no website. I thought I had heard of them but apparently they are a newer company that named themselves similar to the company that we ended up hiring to build our website. It was confusing because the Builder Designs guy named his company almost the same as the other one we thought we were working with but we never knew until it was too late. Funny thing is the Chip guy at Builder Designs spent all his time saying bad things about other website companies which should have been a red flag before I lost everything!

We had similar bad luck dealing with Chip and Builder Designs when we hired them to build two community websites for Harper Farm and Arbor Lake. We paid them, nothing happened, no calls were returned and 6 months later we fired Builder Designs and went elsewhere. Chip spent more time bad mouthing other website companies than doing anything to complete the work we paid him for.

After it was too late we realized Builder Designs has more salespeople than website designers and most of what they do basically looks the same with a different name on it. Watch Out

A shame to see a company taking advantage of people like this - WATCH OUT!
